This program is designed to build your confidence in speaking, listening, reading and writing English in business contexts. You will increase your vocabulary and practise using Business English in everyday business situations on the telephone, and in meetings, presentations or negotiations. You will also develop your Business English skills by writing e-mails, memos and business letters, participating in simulated meetings and role-plays, and discussing case studies. Some class activities you may do include examining cross-cultural business practices and attending field trips.
Classes: Classes offer participants topics and activities related to business and aimed at improving overall speaking and listening fluency. Learner-centred and task-based activities allow participants to contribute their expertise and collaborate with fellow students under the direction of experienced language teachers. Classes focus on providing language support and opportunities for practice through group activities, role-plays, discussion and presentations and feature simulated meetings, negotiations, case-studies, guest speakers and field trips. Classes immerse participants in a rich English language environment, empowering learners and building confidence.
Goals of the Program:
Assessment: Assessment is based on attendance, participation and achievement.
Admission Requirements: Participants must have completed high school and have at a minimum an intermediate level of English.
Levels Covered in the Program: The program can accommodate intermediate to proficiency levels; however, class composition is based on the number of registrants. Testing for class placement is on the first day of the program.
