If you studied English at the English Language Institute (ELI), whether for just a few weeks or for a few years, you are a valued member of our ELI alumni community! It is like being part of a social club with members from all around the world.
Do you have a new job? A new baby? Did you recently get married, or get your degree? Have you been travelling around the world? Do you have a great photo you took in Vancouver? Would you like to get back in touch with an old friend?
Through the ELI Blog, we invite you to share your memories of time spent at the ELI and in Vancouver, and to share news about yourself with other ELI alumni and current and prospective students. What have you doing since you left the ELI? Submit a blog entry and we will share your story with other members of the ELI community in our blog.
Whenever ELI staff go abroad, we try to connect with our ELI alumni. We will post information here about any upcoming events. If you would like to hold an event on your own, please contact us and let us know what you are planning and we can help spread the word. Otherwise, see what other ways you can get involved!
Highlights of Past News and Events
ELI Alumni reunions are a great chance to catch up with our students in their home countries. We love seeing what you are up to now that you are back home and to see you catch up with each other! We have held reunions in Mexico City (Mexico), Tokyo and Osaka (Japan), Sao Paulo (Brazil) and Santiago (Chile) as well as in Vancouver.
ELI Video Contest
The ELI held a video contest based on answering the question, "What does the ELI mean to me?" The winner received a certificate valid for one a free short program at the ELI. For the contest, we had two videos that were great submissions by Aasem and Jewoo. Aasem took the top prize and Jewoo won a package of an ELI t-shirt and sweater for coming in second. Thank you to all who participated!
