If you have a strong academic record but fall short of UBC's English Language Admission Standard, there are program options available that lead into undergraduate degree programs at the UBC Vancouver campus. Apply to UBC and you may be offered admission to one or both of the following:
UBC Conditional Admission
As a conditionally admitted student, you are accepted into your chosen degree program on the condition that you successfully complete Level 600 of the Intensive English Program (English for Academic Purposes) before starting your degree.
UBC Vantage College
As a UBC Vantage College student, you complete first-year coursework integrated with intensive English preparation to help you transition into the second year of your chosen degree program.
Progams to meet UBC's English Language Admission Standard
You can also meet UBC's English Language Admission Standard to apply for admission to a UBC undergraduate degree program by achieving a UBC Certificate in English Language or CEL (equivalent to recognized tests of English proficiency, such as IELTS or TOEFL). This is achieved by completing Level 600 of the English for Academic Purposes program.
