
Registrations and Payments
Students can register for a maximum of three short programs (up to three months at a time) or for a total study period of up to 18 months, regardless of the combination of short and/or long programs.
We provide a Letter of Registration for all programs. For students applying to study for more than six months, we also issue a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL).

Check your eligibility
We accept students over 18 years old for on-campus programs, and over 17 years old for online (adult) programs, for online (youth) programs the age range is 13 - 16.
Students must be at an Upper Elementary (CEFR A2) level.
Students must meet the requirements to study in Canada.

Fill Out & Submit the ELI Application Form
Use the Apply Now button below and complete the application form. You will receive a confirmation email as well as an email with payment instructions after you have submitted the form.
Tuition and all other fees may be paid in the following ways:
- Credit Card (Visa or MasterCard only)
- Bank Draft, in Canadian (CAD) dollars, payable to The University of British Columbia
- Wire Transfer
A non-refundable $150 application fee and non-refundable program deposit are required for each registration.
The program deposit for the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program and DISCOVER program is $600.
The program deposit for all other programs is $300.
The program deposit will be applied toward the tuition fees.
The program deposit guarantees a place in the program until one month before programs start.
Tuition fees must be paid in full at least one month before the start date to guarantee your place in the program.
The registration deadline is two weeks before the program start date. A $100 late fee will be applied to registrations received after this deadline.
Courses fill up quickly. Prospective students are encouraged to register as early as possible.
The non-refundable application fee ($150) and non-refundable program deposit ($300 for short programs/$600 for long programs) are due at the time of registration.
The program deposit will be applied toward the tuition fee.
The remainder of the tuition fee should be paid one month before the program start date.
Only tuition fees paid in full guarantee a place in the program after one month before the start date.
We continue to accept registrations until the program is full, or until two weeks prior to the program start date. Contact us to find out if there is still space available.
If you are registering for a program less than one month before the program start date, you must pay all fees in full (application fee, tuition fee, and medical insurance fee) at the time of registration.

We do not offer any scholarships or financial assistance at this time.
We do not offer preferential fees to Canadian citizens or local residents at this time.
Medical insurance, accommodation, and textbooks are not included in the tuition fee. Please budget for these additional expenses accordingly.
