On Campus Students

Student Services Desk

The Student Services Desk is located in the lobby of the ELI building. They can help you with registering for programs.

Advising

The Academic Coordinator – Student and Program Support is located in the Administration office and can provide information and resources that support your academic success as well as your health and wellbeing.

Placement Tests

Before starting your program at ELI, you will be asked to complete the online ELI Placement Test. This test is used to place you in the class that will be of most benefit to you. The instructions will be emailed to you once your registration is complete.

Communication

UBC Wi-Fi is free and covers the whole campus. Students can use ubcsecure and/or ubcvisitor. Learn more about Internet on campus.

Student Study Centre

The ELI has a Student Study Centre with a small library to offer you a quiet place to do your work.

UBC Card

At the beginning of your program you will be given a UBC Card, to use for ID while you are studying at the ELI.

UBC Library Card

If you are interested in getting a UBC Library Card, please ask at the Student Services Desk for assistance.

Prayer Space and Meditation

UBC has prayer and meditation space that is available for all students.

Internet Browsers for Canvas (LMS)

We recommend using Chrome, Edge or Firefox when using Canvas, UBC’s online Learning Management System. Internet Explorer is not compatible with Canvas.
