Conditional Admission EAP Program Registration

Welcome to the University of British Columbia’s English Language Institute.

Congratulations on your offer of conditional admission to the University of British Columbia (UBC) Vancouver!

As part of your offer, you are required to complete the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Program at UBC’s English Language Institute before starting your degree program. The EAP Program is designed to help you meet UBC’s English Language Admission Standard.

You may register for a 16-week session beginning in January, May or August/September, or an 8-week accelerated summer session. After we receive your registration request, we will email you instructions for submitting your payment information.

Your EAP fees are paid to UBC’s English Language Institute. DO NOT pay your fees into your UBC student account for your degree program.

Policies & Responsibilities

Listed below are the policies you must agree to as an applicant and potential student of UBC ELI. Please read through them thoroughly.
  • I have read and accept all ELI Policies and UBC's Policy on Academic Misconduct.
  • I understand it is my responsibility to meet Canadian Visa requirements.
  • I meet the minimum age requirements of ELI (18 for on-campus programs)
  • I agree it is my responsibility to read the student registration documents.
  • I authorize the ELI to release my name and academic records to other UBC departments, home university and/or sponsorship institutions for admissions purposes or for the basis of credit value. I understand that this does not mean I am being considered for admission to another UBC program. I understand I need to submit a separate application to any other programs I am interested in.
  • The University of British Columbia believes that the best possible environment for working, learning and living is one in which respect, civility, diversity, opportunity and inclusion are valued. Everyone at UBC is expected to conduct themselves in a manner that upholds these principles in all communications and interactions with fellow UBC community members and the public in all university-related settings. In the event that images are captured, please review the below statement and indicate your consent or refusal. I hereby give The University of British Columbia ("UBC") permission to use images of me (including any motion picture or still photographs made by UBC of my likeness, poses, acts and appearances or the sound records made by UBC of my voice) ("Images") for any purposes in connection with promoting UBC and its activities (the "Purposes"), which may include advertising, promotion and marketing.
