DISCOVER the world through English!
DISCOVER is a unique, experiential, integrated skills language program. This program is theme-based and provides opportunities for students to engage in dynamic classroom activities around high-interest global topics. While the focus of the morning classes is on acquiring new language, the afternoon projects classes give students the opportunity to apply what they’ve learned not only in the classroom, but also on the UBC campus and out in the Vancouver community.
DISCOVER uses an intensive project-based approach to learning and provides students with the language skills and confidence to get out of the classroom and communicate confidently in real-life situations.
The DISCOVER Program is for you if you want to:
- Expand your general English vocabulary and develop your reading and writing skills together with your speaking and listening skills in the context of globally relevant topics.
- Work on seminars and projects that develop your critical thinking skills and ability to work collaboratively with people from around the world.
- Experience life on the UBC campus and in the Vancouver community and use the English you learn to communicate with the people around you.
- Know your Level: Our courses range from A2+ to B2+; students are placed in their courses following online in-house testing.
Upon completion of each 8-week program you will receive a certificate and transcript.

You must be at least 18 years old and have an upper-elementary (CEFR A2+) understanding of English to apply to this program.
